CRESSE Training Activities

CRESSE organises three types of training activities:

A. The first is the yearly
CRESSE Summer School that takes place every year in Greece at around the first half of July. The Summer School contains a number of Modules that cover all economic and legal aspects of Competition Policy and Sectoral (Network industry) Regulation.

CRESSE offers each year a number of
Advanced Short Courses in specific topics of Competition Policy (the topics may change from year to year). Advanced Short Courses can be taken on a stand alone basis or by Summer School participants substituting these courses for part or all of Module 6 “Competition and Regulation in Network Industries” of the regular Summer School program.

B. The second is the yearly CRESSE Lawyers Course on “The Role of Economics in Competition Law and Practice” that runs in parallel to the CRESSE Summer School during the CRESSE Conference days and the day immediately after and also takes place every year in Greece. The CRESSE Lawyers Course is targeted to lawyers, enforcers or judges, practicing in competition law or in another field of law in which knowledge of economics is helpful.

C. The third is the Executive Programme (CALEP) that CRESSE co-organises with the OECD Competition Division: the Competition Agency Leaders Executive Programme (CALEP). The programme courses are taught by eminent competition professors, lawyers, economists, management scientists and members of the OECD secretariat. The course is tailored to be an essential professional development opportunity and targeted to Leaders / Heads and emerging Leaders of Competition Agencies, Commissioners, Board Members and Senior Officials (Directors General and other high-level officers) of Competition and other regulatory Agencies throughout the world.

D. Apart from the CRESSE Summer School, the Advanced Short Courses, the Lawyers Course and the Executive Programme (CALEP), CRESSE  also organises specialised customer-tailored training seminars on Competition and Regulation delivered on-site to any interested organisation throughout the world.

Competition or other Regulatory Authorities or other organisations throughout the world, interested in exploring the possibility of on-site training seminars by CRESSE Faculty, should contact Prof. Yannis Katsoulacos (katsoul@aueb.gr) (Summer School Coordinator) indicating:

(i) The Modules (topics) for which they are interested to receive on-site training (see for guidance under Modules)

(ii) The period during which they wish the seminars to take place (please provide at least two alternative periods)

Within a month after a request is received the interested organisation will be sent a training programme with information of available Faculty members, the times during which the seminars will be delivered and the cost.
