1.5 hours: Empirical Approached to Causal Inference

  • Panel data, Instrumental Variables, Difference-in-Differences, Randomized Control Trials
  • STATA sessions and applications related to competition and regulation

1.5 hours: Demand Estimation and Merger Simulations

  • Discrete choice models for estimating demand and market power in differentiated product markets (Logit, Nested Logit, Random Coefficients Model)
  • STATA and Matlab sessions and applications using the Nested Logit and the Random Coefficients Model for calculating elasticities and merger simulations
