Frank Verboven is Professor of Economics at the Catholic University of Leuven. He is Editor of the Journal of Industrial Economics, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association. He is a member of the Economic Advisory Group of Competition Policy at DG-Competition of the European Commission. His current research focuses on the econometric analysis of market power and other issues in industrial organization, with applications to competition policy and regulation. His most recent work has looked at the liberalization of the European car distribution system, competition in liberal professions (such as pharmacies), policy reform in higher education, and investment in ATM networks. He has advised the European Commission, national competition authorities, and leading companies on various cases, including mergers, cartels and vertical agreements.
